Damn.
Been very ill, and was forced to go to the doctor.
Found out my starting weight was 20lbs higher than I thought, and I am 20lbs heavier than what I thought (old house, slanty floors and crappy scale).
So, I got a scale (and the proper spot on the floor) that matches the doc's scale, and while I have still lost the same amount of weight total, my goal is so far away again.
I am so frustrated.

Times is going to pass no matter what you do. It's better to stick with it and be thinner than time pass and you stay the same or gain. Take it 5 lbs at a time. Reward yourself with non food items when you reach your small goal. Write down all the reasons why you want to lose weight and put it where you can see it. Get some fitness magazines and read them (Shape, Fitness, Woman's Health, Health, Oxygen, etc.) I have subscriptions and they have some really good information on health and fitness. Go on Pinterest.com and type in "fitness motivation or inspiration". They have great pics, quotes, recipes, etc. It always motivates me. Take it one day at a time and treat yourself with kindness.

That is frustrating but it does not take away from your amazing progress. Dang slanty floors.

Is it possible.. just a teensy possible... that the docs scale is wrong?

I could only hope Bella lol. My inches are dropping again and my clothes are smaller, but how off could it be? I mean, its a doctor's office! You wouldnt think it'd be off by THAT much! :(

I know that you are frustrated, discouraged bout what you found out.. but please do not give up and throw in the towel, which could be a temptation. DON"T... keep working at it, you will not regret it..

I had exactly the same moment as you, Notjune. I had been weighing myself on my old bathroom scale on an uneven floor, and had been losing weight over the course of a month and a half, and was 12 pounds lighter! And when I was weighed on a more reliable scale, it said I was 19 pounds heavier than I thought I was. I was crushed. Here, I thought I was 175 lbs, but I was really 194 lbs. It felt like I was practically "starting over". I was really unhappy for about a day or two, but then I realized it's just a number, and I hadn't actually gained that 19 pounds and I had, in fact, still lost that 12 pounds! I just has to adjust my perception a little. Setbacks like this feel really overwhelming, I know. Try to focus on how much progress you've made, and how far you've come.

I feel pretty good about it in the respect that I started out at 283lbs...closer to 300 than I thought....at least I'm not back to that. Trying to find the positives where I can.

You've done great, look at the amount that you've already lost. That number that you thought was correct on the old scale is just that, only a number. It doesn't change anything about all the work you've done, how far you've come, how you look or have been feeling with all the weight lost. So while that number is frustrating, you know how to do this because you've already proven it. Just keep doing what you've already been doing and you'll get right where you want to be.

I know it kind of sucks, but look in the mirror - were you not happy with how you looked yesterday? You look the same. These are numbers. Yes, you'd like to get them lower, and you will, but where's the fire? It's not like you get to stop and go back to beer and pizza when you reach your goal, right? You're in it for the long haul, and we'll cheer you on as you chisel your way down. You didn't screw up, and you are still highly accomplished. Give yourself a pat on the back and don't you dare change a thing you've been doing. Progress, not perfection!!

When I get to goal, my new goal will be maintaining it...I know it will never be back to beer and pizza lol. I was getting VERY excited about the way I am looking and the new body I've gotten......so yes, the big stuff didnt change in that one moment.....it just seemed indicative of the way the rest of my life has been going lately...2 steps forward and 1 step back :(
