Hello everyone, its been a while since I've stopped by. Things have been kind of crazy, but I'm hanging on by the skin of my teeth. That's a strange old saying....

We're having a bit of a wind event here, and I'm loving the energy of it, my cat, Beau, doesn't quite know what to make of it. Leaves go flying by out on the deck, & I have some windows open to let the wind blow through the house. It's been quite hot here, so we've had a lot of air conditioning going on. It's still pretty warm, but the fresh air feels good. I had to go out and water all the plants; the warm wind is drying them out.

Ah, had to take a little beauty break before coming back to my crazy life. My partner has been in a lot of pain, and is to the point where walking is sometimes difficult, as well as lifting one leg. Finally, surgery (lumbar laminotomy) is scheduled for the end of this month. Relief is in sight; relief from a grumpy work-from-home partner, from seeing the person I love in constant pain, depressed, and angry at most everything.

I've been working out as often as I can, Zumba and Pilates several times a week, sometimes one right after the other. It makes me feel so good, and I'm staying strong, heck, getting stronger! That's good, since my right knee is in reallllly bad shape. I wear a knee brace to work out, and do maybe and hour of stretches and rolling a day, just to keep things working right. As soon as my partner heals up, I'll be looking forward to getting the knee replacement surgery I've been needing. I hope this one goes as well as the left knee did!

As soon as my partner's surgery was scheduled, I called my orthopedic surgeon to schedule and appointment. I couldn't get in until October 31! I called and left a message for her physicians' assistant, asking if maybe I could be penciled in Dr. S's surgery schedule before seeing her, since she is usually scheduled way out. Last year I saw her in December, and had surgery in February of this year.

I've been baking up a storm, using fresh fruits in all sorts of good stuff. I also found a wonderful recipe for no-bake home made healthy granola bars (using my own home made coconut hazelnut blueberry granola). I love them too much! I made a second batch of them, using tropical fruits and little chunks of dried strips of coconut from Trader Joe's. I gave a lot away, but I ate so many that my jaws were sore. :) I'm lucky I only gained a little weight. Sigh.

I'm doing a massive bunch of paperwork, and discovered that I've made several subtraction mistakes in my checkbook over the last few years. As in, over $600 in my favor! Bonus! Time to get myself some new exercise shorts, and maybe a new pair of Zumba shoes.

That reminds me! One of my Zumba instructors is going to start teaching an Aqua Zumba class at my favorite gym, Sept. 22 at 6 pm. I am SO going to be there! It sounds perfect for my body. I'd better get up and get moving.

I hope you're all doing well. I'm so sorry I haven't been keeping track of my buddies here, or meeting new ones. I miss you.

Hey, haven't seen you on in a while. Nice to see a post from you. I'm sorry to hear your partner needs surgery though; and you are contemplating getting the other knee done. There's no holding you back.
