I am scared to death to eat a potato or slice of bread, since I have been keeping my carbs under 25 (net) and have been off the bread, potatoes, corn, white flour, white sugar the cravings are gone and I want them to stay away! Can you eat potato without craving more carbs? If so I am crazy jealous!

Hey, Rconrad7800, I'm, also terrified to even look at the high-carb foods. It's the main reason I am sticking so tightly to the ketogenic diet. I even look at onions with the evil eye. My cravings haven't stopped, though- mentally, I really need a Baskin and Robbins right now. Especially because my weight loss has been really disappointing for the past 2-3 weeks, and so has my husband's. Disappointment= craving the foods I have been depriving myself of. Fortunately, I'm too terrified of what the sugar would do to me. That's the main way this diet differs to any other for me- it's harder to fall off the wagon.

The potato didn't seem to bother, I do not have any real cravings right now. I just don't seem very hungry at all. I weigh and measure my intake but sometimes don't even finish my meal. Most days my calorie intake is well below what it should be. Maybe why I'm losing so slowly. Any suggestions?

Sometimes we need to eat more protein and actually more calories than we think...very low calorie diets cause us to just adjust to the smaller amounts of food. Another idea is to calorie cycle - so a few days at low calorie and then one day where you spike up 300 or 400 calories and then back down to your low calorie days.
