I need to vent about how much I hate the Atkins diet!!! OMFG! Most of the people who I have seen following it have a crazy RDI of at least 70% fat. How is that freaking healthy?!?! It's not you have to have carbs to get your metabolism going and burn calories. Plus, do you know what happens once you stop following the diet and start eating carbs again? Oh that's right, you gain all that weight right back. If you are on Atkins, you need to stop it and learn to make lasting changes!

Ok that was enough. I will step off of my soapbox now.

Each person is on their own weight loss journey and have to decide what works for themselves. Many people do well on Atkins. You have people eating 500 calories a day on HCG diet. There are so many out there. We all need to learn on our own. But your right about one thing, any person who goes back to their old way of eating will gain it back. So we all need to make changes we can live with. Good luck!

The key is to not start eating bad carbs again to excess. The theory is that it was all the carbs that got me fat in the first place. I'll have to check if I'm at 70 per cent fat. If I am, I'm not trying for that. I'm just avoiding carbs.
