Did shoulders and Arms today and they are like limp noodles about now, I am not increasing weight doing more reps. Just curious what drives you to lose weight? For me I just wanted to look better and feel better so I guess that is kind of vain as I am in better shape than when I was 18. I had no real health reasons to lose weight, I was not pre diabetic, or had a heart attack or high closterol nothing like that, I just wanted to do it for me.

In my case, the goal is better overall health. Weight loss has been a pleasant byproduct of that. I am just now teetering on a total wight loss of 70 pounds, lost 11 inches of waistline, and lowered my A1C from 6.7 in March to 4.9, and my doctor will allow for one more cycle of visits (I will not go in 6 months rather than 4) to decide whether she can reduce or stop my diabetes meds. (I vote for reduce. It's a gray area of debate, but if your pancreas doesn't make enough insulin, you are diabetic. You can reduce your body weight and alter your diet so your body can live with the insulin you do create, but you are never truly no longer diabetic. There is no cure for diabetes. Only extreme levels of control that make it appear so.) The Vanity ship has long since sailed in my case so that is not a goal.... The other part of it is that I never back down from a challenge. I challenged myself to get that A1C under 5 and I did it. I am now challenging myself to get to 12% body fat. I will know Friday what my actual body fat is and make the necessary adjustments from there. One camp tells me "You have to diet away body fat." The other camp says "You have to exercise away body at." My doctor, the final word in everything I do, says "It's a combination of both." I will go with that one. Somebody that studied medicine will always have the last word over a "this is what worked for me" opinion. At the very least, a lot of what I have read here has prompted questions to ask my doctor. Valuable stuff!

I needed to lose weight because of my elevated cholesterol levels and my high blood pressure and I'm now doing it like you, to look and feel better :-)

Goodto know and great reasons for you both. Eddie I agree to lose BF it is a combination of both, and I just found out FT. Carson has a Bod Pod that they will do for free on a space available basis so I might go over there and give it a go.

I wanted to feel better and be able to have the active life that i want. My thought was that I am not getting any younger and if I can find more fitness and health in this body at this time it will only be beneficial for me when I am in my 70's, 80's and 90's. I have too much longevity in my family to ignore the possibility of needing to be active in my 90's. Looking better is always a great side effect
