Rdrunr557's Journal, 23 July 2014

Well today I messed up. I did great all day long until dinner time. I ate an Atkins meal, which was great! I made perogies with kielbasa for my family. It was okay when I picked at the kielbasa but when I was putting away the left overs, in my mouth went approximately 3 perogies.

I need to have someone else put left overs away! I usually do but my husband is still down from emergency surgery and my mother-in-law is 85 with Alzheimers. Some days I need more will power.

Tomorrows another day

How about if you focus on all the good you did today? All day you walked, you ate well, you journaled…forget about your perogies and restart right now. I'm really proud that you fessed up to be begin with!

Good advice. I've re-started Atkins less than two weeks ago after two years off. I feel so much better already. Our annual family picnic is this coming Saturday. I'm taking that as a free day from which I'll take no guilt. I won't gorge but I will try a lot of family's favorites. I feel one needs to take a break from the diet on occasion. I think after only two weeks is probably too soon for a free day but I don't make the picnic schedule. Oh well. Still, it's about getting back on the horse and riding toward the goal. 557, it sounds like you've been doing really well. You don't have to beat yourself up for a little comfort food. Just go back to what you've been doing and enjoy the journey.

Focus on the good and not the mistake. Also don't wait until tomorrow, resolve immediately to start making better choices. That'll prevent you from continuing with bad choices. The dinner you made does sound yummy :)
