This is day 124 of 128 days.

I woke up a few days ago and just said to myself I want to weigh 199 pounds. That day I was 128 pounds away from 199. So, just planned on losing about a pound a day. But even when I say just 1 pound at a time the task still seems daunting because I know it will all add up to 128 in the end total. So, I am breaking it down into smaller chunks, goals that it, just to get going. 5 pound goals.

I scribble notes to myself all over my desk at work in "code" so no one knows what the sticky notes mean. I am even starting to use sticky notes on my front door at home....I am writing the # of the day and sticking it on the door as a last minute promise to myself that I will not fail my resolve once I pass thru that door. So far so good, my daily positive self talk is helpful too....the daily reminders are helping me not go on auto pilot getting anything that pops in my head for lunch on a whim at work.

The emptiness in the middle of my stomach is annoying. The "hunger" is just now a dull constant small pain. I keep telling myself it is nothing compared to the energy boosts I have felt or the reduced ankle swelling or even the puffy feeling all over my body going down making me lighter on my feet.

I am ok today.....just needed to record my experience and thoughts.

That is a great idea. I also found it daunting to look at the whole picture. I found success by reaching for 10 lb increments, i.e.. I am and have been in the 180's for a long time, I am now reaching for the 170's. Once I hit that 10 lb increment I start working my way through it to the next 10 lbs. Don't look at the total number very much because it affected me too. It bothers me that you are hungry all the time. That's a definite negative for me. I make sure that I eat a snack in between each meal and a snack before bed. I have eaten more fruit than I used to eat, used to not want to waste the calories on them but have discovered that they are great for keeping hunger at bay and for fiber. I also researched granola bars and found some lower in calories and high in fiber that work for me. You are being very positive and that is so good. We know our emotions can make or break our success. Do it for yourself and love yourself. Have a great and successful day.

Five pound goals are great. You can even reward yourself with non food items for each 5 lbs or put 5 dollars in a pot for every 5 pounds you lose.

Suzi161 that is a good idea...I like the idea of saving money. I don't want or need anything new. Like eating too much, I shop too much!

CCerza, I do actually. I have sadly noticed that with every new turn at low carbing it, my body seems to have learned what I am doing, LOL. I have to drop the carb count down as low as possible to see any movement in the scale. The first few days I did a modified fat flush to get me going which turned on the hunger signals with no carbs in my body. Very water dense food like salad and cucumbers are being added, slowly eating them early in the day and then back to the protein. But the second I ate 1/2 a cucumber my weight loss stalled. I knew it would but I am giving my body time to adjust to this new carb level.

don't set your goals too high. it seems unlikely to lose 1 pound a day. for most, it's like 1-2 pounds per week. keep with it though! you will do fine. best of luck to you!
