Wow, a new low again. I couldn't be happier. Knowing that the new lows don't stick for a few days makes it easier to accept them graciously. Then when my weight goes up for a few days or I get saddled with being backed up, eventually I'm rewarded with new, lower lows. Ever since adding potatoes and beans back into my diet in moderation, it's been amazing the difference in weight loss. Who would have thought that I needed starches? I really thought the carbs in the fruit I was eating was enough to get me by. I'm trying not to be pissed off that I was taken in by all the hype on the evils of gluten and starch. It would appear that for me, starch in a necessity. Well, that's why it's great to experiment.

My goal was to get to the end of this month and be at 200 solidly. I think I can manage that now. Since I'm just scraping that now, this next two weeks will give me the opportunity to tease the upper 198 region and land solidly at 200, just exactly where I want to be.

Seems like potatoes and beans are once again becoming a mainstay for diets. The last thing I read was that the benefits from eating potatoes and beans out weigh the benefits of cutting the carbs from them. I too have noticed that when I include them in my meals (in moderation and not covered in grease or sugar), I have better weigh ins during that week. I think the trick is not eating them everyday, maybe only 2 or 3 days a week. Was watching Dr Oz show about "Fast Metabolism Diet" which you eat carbs the first two days, protein the second two days and a mix of carbs, protein and fat the last three days. They say it keeps your metabolism on high and burns more fat. Will look into this more.

It's good to learn what makes your body tick. For me carbs are toxic and I can only integrate them into my diet in very small amounts or I blow up even if I calorie count. Now, I don't have to calorie count and I'm still eating more salad than I ever would want to and I'm losing by staying around 20 carbs a day. But everybody has a different tipping point in their carb intake. You have found yours and CONGRATS on your weight loss !

It's good to know that we are all different. Potatoes make my BG goes sky high, but I may try adding some beans.

Great job on the new low. You also might find that the extra starch/fiber helps with regularity.
