Gérardmer > Mulhouse
stage 9 of the tour, did you know there are 21 stages (and two restdays)??? starting to regret my choice (*lol*) anyway tour starts at 13:10 and the tv starts at 14:10, so i will start cycling outdoors, i like the change in scenery, and outdoors cycling is a little different then on the hometrainer. Today i will bring my smartphone and track my route, i wanna know how fast i am going on my old three-transmission bike...
maybe i'll buy me a true racing bike and keep cycling once in a while...
anyways. what do you guys have planned for this glorious day?
never back down! maud.

You would be faster on a racing bike. A stationary bike is a great investment, I watch a TV series while I'm riding it. Today my mother is celebrating her birthday so that means a lot of food and cake. I have everything planned out so I won't go over my RDI. I'm going to take my nieces to McDonalds in the evening but I'll only have a juice. Have a great day :-)

Seems to me that a new bike makes sense. You like riding and riding outside is not only less likely to get boring but a better exorcise. Maybe you can make a new bike your reward for getting thru the tour.

i made another day at the tour... biggest problem is sitting on my **** for so long. I started outdoor cycling, 11.67km in 29.52 minutes av.speed 23.4 km/h BUT!!!! start and finish are included... my average speed during the ride is 30 km/h and with a top speed of 41.3 km/h that really amazed me...
om my crummy bike!!! i really want to find out now what my average and top speed is on a REAL bike!!!

don't give it up!! you can make it through the tour! those times seem really fast to me, but maybe it's just because i am used to reading in miles. we're watching the tour now. allez! allez!

30 km/h is 18.64 miles/h and 41.3 km/h is 25.66 miles/h... and yes that is really fast!!!! sure i could only ride that fast for half an hour, but my top speed equals the slowest tour (TDF) speed (*color me amazed*)
