GLAMMER's Journal, 09 July 2014

I saw my surgeon's PA yesterday. I've lost 3 lbs since last visit 4-6 weeks ago. Not very good, but better than gaining. I also didn't do too well over the 4th of July weekend, or I probably would have lost more weight, so am sure I'll do better this week. I am determined not to give up, but to just keep on doing what I know is right on eating, & I know the results will come, no matter how slowly. It is so discouraging though, that it may take me 2 years at this rate to lose the weight I need to have my hip replaced. It will be a long haul, but will be so worth it when it happens, so it's well worth waiting for.

I am on the longer than two year plan and that is ok I tell myself. I noticed the other evening when looking in the mirror that all my excess flab is slowly ever so slowly tightening I think. I believe that slower works that end of things better as well. When you lose to fast when you are as big as I was then your extra skin just hangs...(have you noticed on those extreme weight loss shows?). I would rather have it shrink as magically as it stretched out to accommodate the extra weight.

Slow is good, slow is healthy, slow gives your body time to adjust, slow means you are more likely to be changing to a healthier life rather than reverting to old ways.
