I have two jobs. My main job is a route job where I go around and I fix and service claw machines, video games, and gumball machines. Today I was working on one of my machines and a mom was letting her maybe 3 year old boy buy a gumball "the red ones look yummy" "um...those are actually hot pepper gum". Went back to my machine and he chooses what to get then I hear mom say "are you still chewing your gum from earlier today?" I just wanted to scream. DO NOT LET YOUR KID START DOWN THIS PATH! The damage to his teeth not withstanding, but you are training his pallet to crave sweets! I just wanted to smack my head into a wall. grr.

ANYWAY, I've started to worry about what my skin will look like when I lose weight. I bought some CoQ10(?) lotion in the hopes that it will help my skin bounce back as I lose. Anyone else have any skin tips?

Lose weight slowly and steadily, hydrate from within, build muscle, body brush and moisturise and maximise nutrition. Then cross your fingers and hope that your skin bouncing genes are strong! I have quite a bit of loose skin already but I am hoping that it will slowly tighten up when I can start building muscle. Good luck.

Dang crazy, looked at your profile, you work too much!!! I bite my tongue a lot watching the foods and junk people buy, eat, give their kids. I mostly quit using soap, I have really dry skin. I use a salt scrub that is really easy to make. Fine sea salt (I buy 50# bags at a restaurant supply) pommace olive oil and coconut oil. Mix it up add some essential oils if you want for scent. I also use coconut oil instead of any type cream except on my face when I will wear makeup.

I'm terrible at drinking. I swear I'm a camel. I just never get thirsty. I definitely need to work on that. I do have a body brush, but I never think about using it. My grandma had some serious bingo arm skin. :/ So...muscle tone you say? Yeah I do work too much, but you gotta make a living right? I'm lucky I like both my jobs. You should see some of the things I get to see parents doing. I must not look like a serial killer because they will drop LITTLE kids off in a game room for an hour while they shop. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have a 13 year old daughter. She isn't out of my sight. Too many crazies. Also when she was little I read that you should make their first food a vegetable rather than a fruit. That way their pallet doesn't expect food to be sweet. Must have worked. She loves brussels sprouts, lima beans, all the foods that usually make kids turn their noses up. (that or I'm just a brilliant parent) I have to try this concoction, I love making my own products. I think it makes me feel like a mad scientist.

Skin. Voice of experience here. To begin with, my loss has been very slow and stead. Over 2.5 years to lose 82 lbs. Factors--#1. Age. #2. Sun damage. #3. How long you were obese if you were ... yes, I was. #4. Amount of loss. #5. Ciggies. #1. 62. #2. Former sunworshiper. 3. Carrying around over 100 lbs. for over 20 years... think a stretched rubber band. #4. 82lbs. down. #5. Quit smoking when I was 54. Everyone in my family had wonderful skin. I did not inherit those genes. And I've seen women who were heavier then I and lost more, who had no issues with a turkey neck. I so envied them. I've tried every vitamin and lotion on the market. Though I exercise, there will never be enough muscle to fill out the skin. If it's an issue, either get used to it or have surgery. I had facial/neck surgery in February. I had my pelican neck removed and he removed the droopy dog look. The rest... no one will see it.

How much did that surgery end up costing you? Fortunately I have never smoked, I'm 41, I avoid the sun (I'm so pale I glow in the dark), I am about 50 lbs overweight and have been for probably about 20 years. I'm most worried about my arms and my buttocks. I hate my double chin.

What I do to help keep hydrated is drink a glass of water (at least 16 oz) before and with each meal rather I'm thirsty or not. If you decide to get the surgery, do it after you've lost all and I mean all the weight. My mom had it then lost 25 lbs and some of the lose skin came back. She really wishes she waited.

No skin tips but I have been doing lots of toning band exercises for my arms to tone and firm up. These seem to be helping.

Look up dry brushing on the internet to help with loose skin.

dclaytor... my doctor told me I could lose another 10-15 lbs. I lost another 6 and went into maintenance. @Absynthia. Tried that too. Didn't work for me. Maybe with crazy it might work as she's only got 50 to lose. I lost 82 and 21 years older then she.

If you're done losing, give it time and see what happens, but most that I've seen tighten up while losing. Would you consider surgery? I can give you the pros and cons and share some battles stories I've heard from others who had body surgeries. Me... I'd do what I did again, meaning if I knew them what I know now, I would still have done it, but would never do the body. They could do lipo and a tummy tuck and remove about another 4-6 lbs, but I don't think it's worth it.

I would like to hear the stories, as I may face that later on. Do you think if I really concentrate on exercise that tightens that it will help? That was one of my excuse for not losing, because for my age I am almost wrinkle free ,just because I have the fat layer, but if I lose weight ,I know what is going to happen.
