Not sure what to say, since I had my knee surgery I have not been able to get back on track! Knee is doing great, my pool is open but summer foods have gotten the best of me and I just can't get started again! Today is a new day so lets see how it goes. Have decided not to follow Atkins for now, will just go back to calorie counting.

Darn, losing momentum, whatever the reason, sucks. I hope you find your motivation and maybe then the summer foods will stop calling your name. Good luck!

I had major knee problems where even when I walked the knee swelled up and made things difficult. My Godsend was a Beach Cruiser. I ride the bike every day to some extent and I am doing ok with the weight loss and my knee seems to be getting healthier. Maybe try that.

Maybe focus on low cal fruits and veggies for the summer, and make a plan for the fall?

Summer foods for me are lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Occasional animal proteins on the grill, lots of grilled veggies. Am trying grilled green beans tonight that a coworker told me about alone with some grilled mushrooms and fish.

When was your surgery? If recent your body needs lots of calcium, vitamins, and proteins to heal after skeletal surgery. Even if you knee feels great you body has diverted nutrients and needs to recoup some. Start with baby steps in changing your diet, and increasing your exercise. You will feel so much for it. Per my docs with knee or ankle issues stay with really low impact. Bike is good no impact helps core and legs with zero impact. I have a gazelle all no impact but gets me going in the am.

You can do anything you put your mind too. Play a game with your alter ego, let it be your nutritionist. It is mind over matter. Whatever eating pattern you choose, just "start." Everyday, get rid of something that is no good for your health and graduate to getting all unhealthy food out of your kitchen. Do it one step and one meal at a time. We are all here if you need us. Glad that your knees are better. So give it your best shot.
