Annabelle3117's Journal, 01 July 2014

Good morning everyone!! Today is the official start of my 75 in 31 challenge. For some reason FS thinks it doesn't start until midnight but I think that's just a time zone issue. Start logging miles today! I intend to go on a walk with my client today, then a nice bike ride after work tonight. Tomorrow I will go to the gym for some miles and strength training. That's the plan.

All things food? Back on track from the weekend. Yesterday was on point. I ended up making fried fish sandwiches for dinner because it's cheap, but I passed on the fried fish and had a quick tuna sandwich instead. Good choices all around.

I'm shocked by the fillers in processed foods. For example, a chicken breastfeeding has upwards of 20g of protein, but a chicken pattie only has ten. 5g of Protein in a fish sandwich pattie, only 3 in a hot dog. It's ridiculous how little real meat is in these foods. Sucks to be me with such poor choices to choose from today. Ah, I will do the best I can.

That's about it for now I guess. It's difficult typing on my phone at work lol.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

I'm dying. I was wondering how much protein there is in a non-lactating chicken...

You know.. that got me to thinking about what other 'mom' animals 'don't' breastfeed... I swear.. I'm so easily occupied it's pathetic. Yes, it is amazing how much filler is in stuff.. seems like it'd be more expensive do to that but it isn't.. doesn't make sense. Like.. broccoli and cauliflower... from the dirt, to the shelf.. no process.. but crazy expensive compared to .. oh, mac & cheese w/broccoli ... and that requires a box.. bag.. get it? It's almost as if it's a conspiracy. What was I thinking about, oh yeah, Chickens. I've never understood why the chicken breast is so much more per pound than say the chicken thigh or chicken leg. They only have two of each of those as well. You're doing wonderful. I'm ranting. Or rambling. I blame it on the finger.

Yay for the chicken breastfeeding typo. I love an end of the day laugh. I hope you had a great day and enjoyed your walk. 75 in 31 challenge :)

Only mammals breastfeed, Bella. So all birds, reptiles and such are more of the birth and ditch type lol. Why are chicken breasts more expensive?!?! (My phone literally just changed it to breastfeeding eight times before I got it right) Maybe it's supply and demand, what with light meat being all the rage in weight loss?? I prefer dark meat myself, thighs all day long. Still waiting to leave work and hopefully get some miles in!! Thanks for the comments, you guys are great :)

Our mommy hen has hatched 12 chicks and keeps pretty close tabs on them. So cute seeing the little ones run all over. No chicken breastfeeding going on at this farm. The most she does is let them climb under her to stay warm! Now I love my chicken breasts. Going to have to butcher some of the roosters that have been cock fighting at our house. They are brutal to one another! More than you wanted to know I would guess.

We raised Barred Rock and they were beautiful. Rooster was shooting blanks... yeah, TMI and we gave his sorry butt away and they made potpie out of him.

We had a relative ask for a rooster Sunday. We told him to come take his pick. They are crowing constantly all daylight hours.

Bad news guys. Chickens sold in bits have a lower quality requirement than those that are sold whole. Just saying.

Never knew that NM... I've been buying whole hens for a long time because I got tired of feeling ripped off w/the per pound pricing thing... so yay I got one right...

Wait, they now want to send the chicken to China for processing and then send it back to the States!

Good for you! I saw that one and thought about it!!

I always supposed that chicken breasts are more expensive because there's more meat. They can't very well charge the same price per lbs when one pound is 50% chicken and 50% bones for one part and the other part is 80% chicken and 20% bones. (those are not actual figures, but you get the point). Anyway, that's my assumption.
