Well I kind of quit journaling, huh? But I did complete the full 14 days of south beach, phase 1. Most days did suck and seemed unbearable at times, but I did make it and managed to lose 15 pounds in the process, but more importantly, I purged myself of carbs (including sugar) and fatty stuff to the point where I no longer suffer from cravings for these things.

I just ate a low-cal subway sandwich while my wife eats the same but munches on potato chips. Didn't bother me a bit. I know I would enjoy some chips and a few wouldn't hurt, but the great news is I didn't have this overwhelming urge to dive in.

So the plan now is no longer any diets but a lifestyle of eating healthy foods with occasional treats, probably a weekly treat. And until I get back into size 34 pants, I still don't plan to diet, but I will eat a lower amount of calories, treat myself even more rarely than once/week and start cardio and strength training. Once I'm slim, I'll ease off (but not quit) exercising, and up the calories to a maintenance level, which will include an occasional coke, but may never include potato chips - my Achilles -heel.
