I am so ready for the weightloss to kick in. I know I have really gained, but since the first of the year, I have lost just 3 pounds. I have been up and down gaining and losing the same pounds. I shouldn't complain about the 3 pounds as that is better than gaining the 20+ I put on since June 2009 :(

The fatsmash diet is going well. I am logging in around 1200 calories daily. Wondering if I shouldn't try to lower a bit. However with Fatsmash it isn't really about the calories as you can have unlimited amounts of certain foods, etc.

Next week begins 2 crazy weeks of Houston Livestock Show for me. I am mentally preparing my foods for those weeks. I will get in plenty of walking as they say typically a person walks 5 miles at a show. Last show I had my pedometer and I easily hit that many miles. We usually have to park far away, then just walking around the stock shows, chasing an almost 4 year old helps too!

Here is to a great March. I really want to hit 169 by April 1st. It will take food wheel power and consistant workouts.

Have walking clothes for lunchtime again today!

I remember that when you start Fatsmash you aren't supposed to weigh yourself for the first 9 days or so. I think that helps because when you switch to a higher fiber diet (with more beans and veg) it takes a little while for the scale to notice you've been eating healthier.

Thanks Beets. Today was actually day 7. I weighed yesterday out of habit. I just want to get below the 178 mark and then keep going down. I just can't seem to get the metabolism burning. I am not giving up yet, I know it will hit. I had actually hit 184.8 last Friday even though it was not a recorded weight. So technially I am down. Just want to get down out of the rut I seem to be in on the scales.

FatSmash... I've heard the name so many times, but I have no idea what its about. Whatever it is, I hope it works for you!! Good luck, and no matter what, you should always give a new diet (WOE) atleast 2 weeks to see how it works, so don't give up to soon!

Fatsmash is like a 3 month program with 4 phases. You eat this, not that type approach. Nothing really to count. Many items are "so called" unlimited. First 9 days are the detox phase. No meat. Protein comes from beans, egg whites, limited milk/yogurt, etc. I did the program in 2006 and lost the weight I wanted to lose before getting pregnant. With the changes in WW I just didn't want to try to learn something new. This approach is a very simple one and with the workouts will yield the results I need during the next 90 days.

I wish I could make rhyme or reason out of why the scale appears to stall despite being mindful, moving our bodies, and eating a reasonable amount of calories. I do know that you just have to be patient, be honest with yourself, and continue on. I think there are many, many variables that impact our weight. Stress, sleep, hormones, sodium, and lord knows what else. Whatever works JC. Not sure I'd recommend lowering your calories below 1200 ... maybe a day here and there ... some say mixing it up confuses our body's tendency to hold on. You will do fine, whether or not you hit 169 by April 1st!!

Thanks Carol. I am not giving up just yet. I am trying log in all the foods that will help me start to see a pattern. I am going to stick to where I am right now, especially with walking. Maybe on a day I miss the workouts, then possibly drop calories a little to offset not having the burn that day. I know I may not hit the 169 mark by April, but at least I can strive towards that goal, then when April hits, set another!
