O.K. This is ridiculous. I gained four pounds while my in-laws were here. UGH! It just seems like it shouldn't be this hard, but thinking back I have really fallen back into my old ways and this is what happens. That wonderful mindset I had 2 months ago is gone, and it seems like I have no self-control at all right now. I will forge on but it just seems impossible.

Don't get down on yourself, we have all slipped at some point and did the same thing (I know I have MANY of times). There is a very positive thing out of it. You do know, and recognized the "old" ways that got you into trouble to begin with. That is a very good start, and I know from experience also very hard to stay away from. What I did was I broke only one at a time. My first and hardest was the snacking at night after dinner. It took a long time, but now...I couldn't really tell you the last time that I had a snack after dinner. I replaced that habit with a better one, I would have a cup of tea instead. Just dust yourself off, get back in the saddle - You CAN do this!!

I agree totally with Mrs. H., please don't get down on yourself and you have recognized what happens. That's half the battle. You have done it before, you can do it again. Yes, it is hard to start again but just take baby steps. You Can do this!!

Everyone else has taken the words out of my mouth. In short, get back on the wagon. Take it slow, it will workout.

OH, AND: I am sure I would gain way more if my in-laws were to come into town.
