Happy 34th Anniversary of the Mt. St. Helen's eruption...Where were you when she blew?

I was in Seattle at work for US West as a telephone operator (or whatever they were called in 1980, Pacific NW Bell??), and it was amazing how many calls we got for help getting through to people here because all the circuits were busy...the East coast thought the whole West coast had gotten blown off the map! but, then again, lots of people on the East side back then thought that we here in WA were still dealing with cowboys and indians and covered wagons lmao...

I was working for the U.S. Forestry Department. I remember a co-worker brought in some ash. About a year later I was with my fiancé in Port Orchard.

I was in San Diego. A friend of mines Dad, who lived in Washington, brought him some ash in a bottle. I think People on the East Coast still think that way about the Upper North West. They can be silly people
