I'd try to avoid cheat days initially. It makes it harder to stay on track. Set a goal to lose x amount of weight before adding cheat meals. I know when I "cheat" I go overboard. It's easier said then done.

I read your bio too Vince. Re: exercise - do you have a public pool available to you? I've got a wonky knee and working out in the pool really works well for me. For cheat days, that's a slippery slope. Personally, I simply can't build them into my plan. If I have two, I'm tempted to think "oh, what's one more". Or, I can find myself just living for those days. Yep, there are the rare special event days - and simply days that I go over. Other than the special event days, I really try to avoid going off track. YMMV.
