watching carbs, trying to cut out wheat, seems to be working.
194.4 lb Lost so far: 3.6 lb.    Still to go: 41.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I'm on the Paleo diet also. It seems to be very slow, but I'm not giving up yet.

It's all about carbs for most of us. Some folks can bulk up on them with little negative effect. I'm not one of those. During my weight loss days, I could watch a direct correlation between the number of net carbs I ate and my weight. It makes sense when you realize that insulin turns fat storage on and fat burning off, and carbohydrates turn on insulin production, and more carbohydrates turn on more insulin production. Everyone's different of course, but for me, when I get much over 100 net grams/day my weight loss stalls and I start conserving body fat. If I get to around 50 or 60 grams and eat plenty of healthy fats and non starchy, high fiber veggies with a moderate amount of high quality protein, I lose body fat in a very steady sustainable manner. You just have to experiment on yourself until you find the right combination.
