I invested in a heart monitor from Polar, the FT7 series, so that I can more accurately track my calorie burn during workouts instead of relying on those very iffy monitors on the machines and trying to guess when lifting weights or circuit training.
I am very happy with the FT7 and how it tracks your heart rate, averages, and calories. For those serious about loosing weight I highly recommend you look at getting a heart monitor for your workouts...you won't regret it!

How is it working?

Its actually working out great for me. The Life Fitness equip will recognize the heart monitor part you wear around your chest so you don't have to look at the watch part all the time. As for calories burned the FT7 had me burning more calories than the machines where showing. I figured this would happens since the algorithm used in the machines don't take gender or height into account not to mention that over time they loose accuracy from constant wear and tear.

I've got an F4 and use it all the time for treadmill work, kettle bell and strength training.

Sounds cool! I have a fitbit which is fun - wish it did heart rate too... maybe that'll be my next toy! :)

Yeah I have heard of Fitbit but don't know too much about them. Thinking about getting the H6 or H7 Bluetooth heart rate monitor for my FT7 so that it can send my workout data to my phone or my computer. Easier to see how my workout are progressing that way.

Wow that sounds cool! The fit bit syncs to the phone and computer automatically and measures steps, miles, active minutes, calories burned and it has a sleep tracker in it!

I just ordered the DataLink that works with most Polar devices which plugs the USB port on your computer and does pretty much the same.
