Have not been able to exercise as usual because I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago. I have been doing lots of yard work but it's just not the same, not "feeling the burn" and getting my heart going. I think this has caused me to be quite loose with my "diet" and I have been eating more. I try to eat less and stick to my low carb diet but I go to bed somewhat hungry and then when I can't sleep or sleep poorly I get up and eat cereal--every single night. It's frustrating but it's my own fault; time to make better choices. It's really hard to get back on track; I did well when it was no carbs at all (except fruit); I have a hard time when I try to limit it to 1 air 2 servings; I just want more. Yes, I am a carb addict. I still don't eat as much as I used to, but still don't need as many as I am getting. If I could just get back that self control and stop eating cereal at night I think I'd start losing again....sigh. I don't usually rant on and on like this, but sometimes it helps to get my thoughts down. So glad everyday is a new day, every meal is a choice. I am in a rut but I'm also thankful for so many things: my husband has a good job so we can afford healthy food (I eat a huge salad every day for lunch), I could have hurt myself worse and had to stay sitting all day, I could go on and on about how much I am blessed.

I am sure that eating at night is taking quite the toll. I go to sleep a little hungry at night. my weight has done a lot better from being done eating 4 hours or so before bed. Plus I sleep good. :)

Well I'm glad you sleep well, since that's about to change :) I know for sure eating at night is bad in many ways, I just wish I knew how to stop again, I had stopped when I first started this diet back in November. I'm sure it's not even a stretch to say that most of my 18 pound weight loss was because I stopped eating at night!

It is annoying how little blips in our proposed routine snowball. I have had a bad week and a half with back pain and less working out as a result. The only way I have more self-control at night is that I can only eat what I have logged already and I don't want to get the computer out again to log something new, lol. Good luck with the night hunger.

I would say if cereal is what keeps tripping you up to quit buying it. :) That's what I do with things I fall prey to eating.

Momfield, read up on the free blogs at musclehack.com. Mark really knows his stuff. I'm on his Total Six Pack Abs program. It let's you eat up to 100g of carbs a day, which would probably work a lot better for you. Once you start making good progress, you can start to lower the carb total, but there is a limit to that. Extremely low carb diets are bad because they slow your metabolism too much. Best wishes!

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions! The good news is last night was the first night in forever that I did not get out of bed! Bad news is I ate so much yesterday that it's crazy. gilliansings, unfortunately I don't mind logging more and more, that's not a motivator for me. I even tried one of the challenges on here "no more eating after 8pm" thinking that would motivate me, but it didn't, there really isn't any palpable accountability. iamachristianjesusfreak, I don't think I can stop buying cereal with 6 kids in the house it is a staple, but you are right it's best to get rid of the things that make us stumble. pmjeff21, I will look into that, thank you.
