Good question, my mother's family has always grazed every holiday. Maybe people only know how to celebrate being together by eating?! I remember some family reunions where we actually pkayed softball but that was with grazing as well. Hmmmm.....

Did pretty well for the holiday (mainly because I did most cooking and no extended family over -- though husband bought ice cream later that night...but I held on). I was thinking I wanted to do more things with the kids and quickly realized we do a lot of "food" things...dinner...lunch...brunch...treat...

Thanks NM for opening a space for us to confess :) I think I behaved very good actually! only because I had just came back from a looong flight and spent 2 days recovering from jetlag. The third day I eat a bit more than I should have, as I was enjoying so much to eat my own food again. What I need to say is that I weighed myself in today and I'm way heavier than during my last weigh in (600 gr). and I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong. As I am hoping that it is only fluctuation (a huge one!) I didn't record it officially, but I can't stop asking myself if it can be that in NZ (where I was) I weighed less than I weigh back home? you never know.

I ate some things I should not have but I stayed way under on my calories and stuck to my macros. I had 2 beers, some cheesecake and lemon pie on Easter. I tried to burn it off with 2 hours worth of tossing horseshoes. Thanks for letting me confess. :)

I have nothing to confess - I had my crazy eating on Friday but journaled it. However, I wanted to offer a thought I had a while back ~ I think people have always brought food in celebration of their 'joining' - ala 'breaking bread' but somewhere along the way with the over abundance of food available, generations raised on drive thru windows and supersize pizza delivered in 30 mins or less, the need to do up the holidays became even greater. No longer did we celebrate the gathering and be grateful we HAVE food.. it's holiday on overload. That's my thought.

Well i don't have anything to confess. The only bad thing that I ate was an peanut butter egg on Monday so I am very proud of myself.

Bella. I think you nailed it there. Celebration on steroids because the way so many eat is over the top every day. :) Marilyn. It is not okay for me. The way I want IS overdoing it.
