I didn't lose any my first week either, but now I'm heading into week 3 and the weight is finally starting to come off. Hang in there, and stick with the diet and you will lose the weight! The one thing I try to remember with atkins is that you can't cheat, especially during induction. Congrats on staying strong through Easter, I'm sure the temptations were hard to resist! What kind of coffee do u drink? I switched to decaf and that seemed to help. Good luck on week 2!

Some people's bodies just don't work well with sweeteners. Try cutting just the coffee at first and keep drinking the tea; this will at least help you with weaning of the caffeine.

If anything, stimulants in coffee and tea actually help with weight loss. If you must have a sweetener, use a natural one (like Stevia, available at Trader Joe's or online.) I drink 100-120 oz of Irish Breakfast tea daily and it has no negative affect (nor should it.) Down 9lb in 1 month and 12lb to go to my target of 148lb. More protein, veggies, less (or no) starches. I eat about 4-5lb of healthy food daily (and I am never hungry, in fact feel stuffed most of the day) for a total of 1300-1600 calories and burn 2200-2500 calories. Every Saturday I eat a very large piece of cake or pastry from my favorite bakery, but my total for that day is STILL 1600 calories only, because I know to cut down during other meals. Don't deprive yourself completely of foods you love, because resenting that will result in binge eating later. Make a plan that you can actually sustain and maintain once you DO reach your target, else you will regain it all back. It is only math: burn more than you intake for a gradual (!!) weight loss.

Yes, coffee and tea wouldn't inhibit weight loss unless you are going to Starbucks and drinking the high caloric ones. Green tea can especially help with weight loss. Sometimes other factors mask our weight loss efforts for the week. If you had a high sodium meal right before weigh in, it could mas your loss. Exercise, medicine, hormones, inflammation, etc. and many others can also effect the scale. Just stay on plan and it will eventually catch up. Notice how your clothes are fitting because you can lose fat and not see the scale move.
