Chris1979's Journal, 08 February 2011

Well, I'm reporting the gain from the FOUR cheeseburgers I had while I was in South Dakota visiting my friend and her family. The food in that state is universally unhealthy. Every place we went out to dinner had minimal healthy options, or none at all! The first night we were there my friend ordered a salad and it looked brown and disgusting. So I stuck with burgers b/c I figured I was at least getting some protein for the little nugget in my tummy!

My first dress fitting is tonight. This should be interesting! The seamstress is going to have to guess how big my belly will be lol. Better too big than too small though.

My next doctor's appointment is the 18th, so about a week and a half away. I hope he thinks I'm doing good with my weight gain rate. I'm also going to see if he's willing to move up my anatomy scan (and therefore gender determination) to when I'm 18 weeks. Hoping for Tuesday, March 1st b/c then I'd know before the wedding. Otherwise I'd have to wait until we are back from our honeymoon, which won't be til the 13th and I will be 20 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

Have a great day buddies and be healthy!

LOL!!! Cheeseburgers!!! You sound just wonderful. Back in the dark ages we didn't have an option for determining the gender of our babies!! It was just a big surprise!! Before or after the honeymoon will work. You will still have plenty of time to plan for your little girl or little boy's arrival!! Back to healthy eating Christina!! You are back in civilization now!!

If you do it to early, you may not be able to tell. There is probably a reason they do it at 20 weeks, but hey, you could get lucky! I had to go back twice for both my sonograms, because the kids just kept mooning us! And don't worry about the burgers - Your doing fine! Have a great Tuesday!!

Chris this is all so exciting, a wedding, a wedding dress and a baby. I am so very happy for you! Don't worry about the burgers...you are back home now and will get back on track with healthy choices for that bundle of joy! I knew ahead what my kids were too. By ultra sound with my son and CVS with my daugher...

I hope you and the baby are well Chris. I think I just understood about the wedding, that's wonderful. I'm happy for you buddy and, as always, wish you Good Luck with everything!

Glad you went for the cooked burgers instead of brown salad too!

Oh, sometimes you need a cheeseburger, or four. ;) Exciting about the dress fitting. I remember going for my last fitting and thinking there would be all this extra room from whatever I was doing to get smaller and the dress fit just right. This tiny old Italian woman did the fittings at my place and she was amazing, and really knew her craft. You are right--better more room than not enough! If it was me I'd probably wait till after the honeymoon so the honeymoon is just about you guys--but then again, I'm not finding out the sex (even though it's soo tempting at the ultrasounds) so I'm probably not the best person to ask. One thing I will say is we went for an anatomy scan at 18 weeks and there were a couple things we couldn't see till 20 weeks (not gender but brain and face) and we had to go back, which was annoying. My OB has an ultrasound in her office but we go to a different office for the big scans.

And what could be wrong about your weight? Where you are women are all over the place. Some have gained and some are where they started and some are below. You are fine!

Hi Chris! When cheeseburger is the healthiest option, you are indeed in trouble lol! I am sure you are doing fine with the weight gain, like Beets said each woman is different, as long as you are healthy I don't think you should worry about how much you gain/don't gain. Good luck with the dress fitting!!
