Atkins doesn't really work for me. It messes up my stomach (both ways) believe it or not. Hahahahahaha :O/ I have changed my diet plan to my own. I will be watching my calories, carbs, but trying to find a healthy balance for me that also allows me to lose weight. I feel nervous about it, but my stomach situation was definitely a deciding factor. Blechhhhhhhhhh!!

The biggest part of the battle is growing the cojones to find a plan that works for you. Atkins is great for some people, not trying to talk down on the program but there is no one size fits all diet plan, and eventually we all hit maintenance and have to step back into the real world... so to speak. Perhaps you should start by going back to things you used to eat that sat well with your stomach, and tweek it from there. All things in moderation, right? I still use all of my original recipes in the kitchen, ive just tweeked them a little here and there. This is completely doable :-)

Have you tried Tosca Reno's clean eating plan? I did atkins over 10 years a go and lost a bunch of weight but wasn't able to maintain the lifestyle, with clean eating it's so simple.

Kim, Atkins just makes me feel sick to my stomach as well. I think it's away to much fat for my body. Devised my own that fits my crazy eclectic tangents for eating and cooking. Basically mostly whole foods, average 1200 calories a day each week and keep the average fat somewhere around 30%. Let's me play with many different types of foods and my ever growing cookbook collection.

Maybe you should consult your doctor about a plan that will work better for you. Have a great evening.

@wholefoodnut - I am going to the same exact thing. I am happy with my slow but steady weight loss (today anyway). Sometimes I wish it would go faster. Hahahahaha!! Thank you all for the comments. I appreciate it very much. Have a wonderful day.............

I use my own plan too which is nothing specific. I try to make better choices and watch portion sizes. Then walking and water. Slow but steady is great and since it is really a life style change rather than a "diet" it will easier to stay healthy even after the weight loss.

Kim, slow and steady is good. My doc has told me slow means you are changing habits and your overall eating plan. That takes time and then when figure out what works for you it's easier to make it for a lifetime with adjustments when needed.

Visit www.dietdoctor.com/lchf and see if it appeals to you. Also visit http://www.eatlowcarbhighfat.com/?page_id=7 and see if that peeks your interest. I started with Atkins, but moved over to dietdoctor they are similar but not the same. Hope you find what works for you. I also intermittent fast along with eating low carb, high fat and it works very, very well for me at weight loss.
