Ruhu's Journal, 02 April 2014

Hump day, or for me it's prep & pack day as I head into NYC for a long, fun-filled weekend starting tomorrow. I'm meeting my girlfriend from Cincy (we've been the best for friends since kindergarten), her daughter (my godchild), and get daughter's friend. Both of the girls are pregnant with their first babies. We're seeing Les Mis (I've seen it twice before but its a new version & my all time favorite show) & Newsies, are signed up for a new workout at a studio found online called Uplift, and hope to do a walking tour of Greenwich Village, weather permitting. More sightseeing & shopping, and eating of course, round out the weekend:), so I have much fun ahead with special friends!

I've checked restaurant menus for those I know we'll go to, and will take my P's (pause, plate, progress not perfection, & prayer) and C's (staying curious, seeking calm & remembering I'm in charge). I'll also journal & log when/what I can, and relax & enjoy!

But first today, I'm off to workout and then the prepping begins, of course though, after I pray --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And through this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, journal, log & express my way. I'm so very grateful for each of too good to be true you, my family & IRL friends (especially those coming to visit tomorrow), warming temps, good workouts and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

I believe the term I read the other day is 'frenvious' but it's all with a good heart. Would love to go to NYC again and walk around, see theater, EAT, of course, LOL. Smiling as I comment so know that I'm happy for you and will be thinking of you having a wonderful time and the opportunities to reinforce the ways you've learned to nurture yourself this past year by getting the rest when you need it and enjoying the weekend.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend. Take your tools with you but overall enjoy yourself. Remember that email I sent you yesterday - this journey is made up of many days and this one week-end of fun and enjoyment won't derail whole train, it may just put it on a siding for a day or two but knowing how well you've been doing lately I think you've got this covered. I like Bella's term ' frenvious' yes I am that too. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and of course details on Monday when you get back :)
