So i've been on this site for half a day and already i realize that i eat too many carbs. This is definitely a learning experience for me.

That's the great thing about this site! Mindful eating imo is the best way to lose weight. There is a huge learning curve on this site. :)

well, that depends…. I looked at your food intake for today, that combo would be healthy for me. I stay under 210 carbs daily but what I have learned in the last 18 months is where to get the carbs from that help me and not add weight to my body. Complex carbs are good, fruits, veggies, potatoes, and some high fiber breads. What I found by counting my calories was that I was "accidentally" eating less than 210 carbs a day by eating more veggies and fruits instead of higher carb foods.

I'm a big fan of using this site to check my carbs. Some carb amounts are so surprising! I use this article from Mark's Daily Apple as my guide for how many carbs to have in my diet: http://www.marksdailyapple.com... Not everybody is the same, and I'm not a long distance runner so I never carb-load, but this guide works out really well for me.

Thanks for all the encourgement and great advices guys!!! I have a question about portions though. my diet style is portion size. so i eat regularly with more fruits and veggies. how would i log that in my food diary?
