Still trying to recover from my injury from Wednesday night. Daughter from college surprised us a day early coming home for spring break. By the time she left she was very frustrated with us. She was planning and expecting a cleaning intervention during her time at home. I coorporated the first night because it was an area I have been trying to get to cleaning out for a while. But then the injury slowed me way down for the weekend. I didn't have the extra energy to be cleaning non stop. No one else in the house would help which made her angry. She upset everyone in the house with a drill sargent mentality. Then there were fights and no one was doing anything. What a bust of a weekend. I love my daughter...but she is very judgemental and thought she could and should be telling everyone at home how to live our lives. Didn't fly very well. I guess when you are 21 you think you know better than everyone else how the world should operate. Meanwhile with the injury I am back up in weight. I assume from the swelling in my shoulder.

I hope that shoulder feels better soon! You should be taking it easy on the joint, so good call dissapointing your daughter. Sorry that it didnt go the way you would have liked, would have been nice if she would have just been content spending time with the family instead of trying to run the show. She will figure out whats really important eventually, we all do at some point :-)

This sounds quite normal for her age. Our youngest daughter is quite similar in attitude & all to yours, so I know how hard it can be to deal with her & be nice about it, & how it can upset others when she tries to be controlling. I'm glad you knew to listen to your shoulder pain & stop when needed. I agree with Yolanda, she will figure things out in time. Our daughter has, she'll be 30 in May & is quite a bit better in the controlling. Now she just cleans like crazy when she comes home (here), then makes sure we appreciate all her hard work, if you know what I mean, hee hee! ; ) Take care of that shoulder, & don't be too stressed over a couple of lbs gain while you're healing, just do the best you can within your limits. Sending healing hugs & heartfelt prayers your way.

Have a 23 year old daughter who just recently moved back home (we hope temporarily). Totally hear ya about the attitude. Since ours has been gone for some time, her attitude is much better when at home now. But there are still days... Good luck!

Thanks you all! I found out yesterday when I went to the chiropractor that I have a subluxation. It is not as bad as a dislocation...but it is where part of my shoulder is out of place. He worked on putting it back into where it belongs and told me I also have a contusion inside the shoulder joint which is like a bruise in there. He said he could tell that I hit hard on the joint when I fell and that there is definitely damage to the joint. So it is ICE, ICE and more ICE. Last night trying to sleep in the position that he suggested just did not work. I just want to feel better!

Shoulders can be the MOST painful - especially when you are trying to sleep. Take care of it and yourself. Cheers

Oh, feel better soon! I have a shoulder that keeps hurting even though I haven't had any accidents with it. It's like I sleep on it wrong every night and stays in constant ache.
