Ok, So today the Body Bugg allowed me to weigh in for the first time!! I am so excited!! I am, for the first time in 3 or 4 years, under 200 pounds!!! It is just barely, one wrong snack and I won't be, but I am so happy to finally be seeing something happen to my body and to my lifestyle!!

I think more than anything, I can see how I am changing my habits. I workout almost every day, hard as it may feel, I have to push through! Then I have overhauled how I eat. I can see now that I used to eat so much processed, fatty and full of sugar foods! I got an email from the BL the other day and the tip was to go through your pantry and get rid of "The Whites". Bleached flour. Sugar. Pasta... All the things I cooked with. No more.

I saw myself the last few days almost fall into the same pit that I have lived in for so long. I got down because I was exhausted and hurting so much form all of the work, and I wasn't seeing much for results... So what did I do? I baked brownies... Mind you, the sugar was replaced with splenda, but nothing replaced the butter or the bleached flour or the chocolate chips inside or the toasted marshmallows on top... When I get discouraged I have cravings, like physical, gotta have it cravings for these things... I did not resist. I didn't crazy indulge like I would have usually, but the potential to fall back in my old ways are still very real. So I will work very hard to resist. Someone once said "Resistance is futile." I wanna go up to that person and say "Screw you. I WILL do this!!!"

Body Bugg:

After my first weigh in it gave me a little segment with my goals and how I had met them. Then it took me through my averages for the week. According to my records of what I eat I have a calorie deficit of about 2000 each day, but according to how it calculates it from my weight loss, the actual deficit is about 1400-1600 a day. I know it doesn't account for fluid shifts and what not, but I think it is time to invest in a scale so I can start measuring my meats, etc and become more accurate. =)

I have found this really nifty function on the digital display that lets me track how many calories I am burning for a specific workout. It's almost like the trip button in a car that records how many miles you want it to record. But, the really great thing about it is that it also calculates how many calories I burn per minute!! Which means that if I am not stepping it up, it will show.

I have been able to get it down to a small science. If I warm up with the Wii steps and the Wii boxing then after I take the kids to school go walking I can get my cal/min up higher and burn more during my workout. When I walk, if I spend the first few minutes walking and then run for a few minutes and then continue down to walking then I can boost my calories burned per minute and it will stay high during the whole walk, and that way I will burn more calories. That make any sense?

Go 'maica, go 'macia!!! How awesome do YOU feel right now!!! That is a great milestone, and great motivation to keep it going. As for the brownies. I'm very disappointed in you... as punishment, you have to send the rest to me :D. I'll dispose of them for you! That tip about the "spurts" ramping up your caloric burn is GREAT. I'm sooo going to work on that, myself! Thanks, doll! And way to go on the loss!
