Made it safe & sound to Utah & really, truly enjoying myself! The weather is great, our friends fun & easy to be with, & being here with my younger DS & DH priceless! And my combined 5P (Pause, Plate, Progress not Perfection & Prayer) & 3C (Curious, Calm & in Charge) plans are working. Even after a very stressful trip here, I've been able tot stay my course gluten, lactose & sugar aware, and eating & living mindfully! What fun & I'm so thrilled to be more focused on living than eating on this trip... The first such in a long time!

So, the trip! We were of course running late for our 4:30 am pickup on Thurs for our 7 am flight. Then we got to the airport and luckily curbside check-in was not crowded, but the temps were frigid, the wind was howling & 1 of the bags had gotten horribly tangled in the cargo net in my trunk. While DH was dealing with that (he eventually had to cut the net free), DS & I started the check-in process. When DH was finished, he sent us inside to get out of the cold & finished checking us in. It wasn't until we met up inside that we realized we had only 5 claim tickets for our luggage, but each had 2 bags, so we were short one. The airline said we'd only checked 5, the driver said we hadn't left one in the car, and older DS at home said not at home either. When we got to SLC, it was one of DH's bags -- the one with his clothes but not his skis, boots or ski gear, luckily. The bag still has not turned up! But through it all, I sought to stay calm, and prayed for serenity... God, of course, answered.

Since then the trip has been awesome! I downhill skied for the first time in about 7 years with my friend here who didn't mind going slow & easy with me yesterday. Then last night we all snowshoed to dinner at one of the mid mountain restaurants. Today DH & DS went helicopter skiing & I sent my friend to ski some harder runs with her family while I did yoga. I'll meet them for lunch shortly. Tonight we're doing the bobsled ride -- wish me luck... & guts to not chicken out. Then I fly home tomorrow... After what's been a wonderful trip... And a trip reminding me that I am more than what I eat, what size I am, or what the number is on the scale. I am so happy to be getting back to truly, deeply, mindfully enjoying life, and doing so healthfully & freely.

I'm hoping all of you, my wonderful, special FS buddies are doing well, and to catch up on your journals soon. You add so much to my life every day just by being you, because being able to come here & know I am loved & accepted unconditionally means everything to me. We are stronger, smarter, healthier & more mindful together! I could never thank you all enough!

So, now I'll pray for serenity (& the safety of DH & DS while they heli-ski), and I'll continue praying, breathing, logging & posting when I can, and expressing my way through this one day & each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion. Again I could never express my immense gratitude for each of you, my family & IRL friends, this wonderful trip, an awesome visit with my younger DS, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love now including enjoying traveling mindfully! Go Bobsled and know that we are all sliding down that hill with you so if you do tip or roll we'll wrap our protection around and keep you safe. Sounds like a wonderful trip being enjoyed with attention and intention. Well done!

Sounds delightful! Sorry about your husband's bag, but clothing can be replaced. Good for you for staying calm. I'm not quite ready to start skiing again, but I too look forward to vacations more focused on activities and fun versus eating. I have younger siblings that are VERY active, so they will be glad to drag me around, lol. Enjoy your trip!
