DanaDowning's Journal, 16 February 2009

Ok...So i have been on Weight Watchers for almost 2 weeks now and i am not happy. I feel nothing but tired and bloated and thats what carbs do to me. I am so lost i dont know what to do now. I know i have always found support here and i havent been active in conversations lately but i am back. I am going back on Atkins and i am going to fight my cravings. The only problem i will have trouble fighting is the depression i go in sometimes because i am so tired of my weight and being obsessed with it but thats where these journal things come in. I need all the support i can get!

Welcome back Dana! Sometimes I got the 'blues' when I went and changed diets. If it comes it'll pass. I also have more energy with less carbs usually. Think about where you'll be in a year. Set a goal and aim for it, it took me like six months to originally lose twenty pounds a year ago when I reached it or so in April, and when spring came everyone wondered how I lost the weight so quickly when I shed my winter clothing - I said it took six months! So those little steps will get you there one at a time. A pound a week loss isn't unreasonable... :)

Good to see you are "getting back on the horse". I was VERY hungry the first week or so back on Weight Watchers. I'm just doing the Momentum program where you count your points throughout the day. It does get better with time. Stay active on here for support too.

I was wondering where you had been! Dana great to see you back. Diets suck, each and everyone of them. Whatever you decide to do: try to be least miserable doing it. If you find yourself getting depressed maybe allow one piece of bread or what ever your vice carb wise is. Another low carb/ low or no sugar type diet is south beach. My uncle and aunt are on this and losing very well. They have low carb tortillas sometimes among other things with limits. Being healthy and strong are more important and you can get there will allowing some limitations to your vices.

Hi! I'm switching from weight watchers to atkins beginning tomorrow. I feel the same as you with weight watchers. and all the refined foods leave me feeling hungry and i end up sugar bingeing. i want to eat more lean proteins as snacks so that i stay full and i know that on ww i'd rack up the points super fast so i'm just switching back to atkins and getting support/tracking here.
