Ahh, we share that personality trait - motivated by the most ironic. It's like someone saying to me, or as I've actually said to myself 'what's the point of skipping that cheesecake, we all die in the end' and the answer was 'well, between now and death, I'd like to be healthy enough to walk to the store, buy the cheesecake, walk home and feed it to myself.' Or something probably not quite the literal or logical but I get your point. Inspiration comes from the oddest of places as long as we're are open to looking for it, doesn't it?

Not to mention how much good it does for the baby's health. A very rude comment from and obviously ignorant and unexperienced woman. Youre absolutely right, you wont get fat. Pregnancy is beautiful and im so happy youre letting this motivate you rather than defeat you! :-)

Bella so true! Here I just thought I had the whole kid thing going where someone tells you that you can't have something so you instantly want it. :) If you want something badly enough though it is easy to find the motivation to get there.

That's a great motivator and I love your 5 reasons, especially the cheesecake one!! And it's great to know that people at the gym are rooting for you too. So, even if you do get big and gain weight from the baby, at least you are trying to stay healthy for you. There are so many benefits of exercising for you and the baby!! You are amazing, keep it up!!!

Let's face it pregnancy/childbirth is hard on your body. Why not train for it like you would anything else? You will have a healthier pregnancy and bounce back quicker afterwards if you don't let everything go.

Skinnygirl I like that! I'm training for another child. Anytime anyone tells me to take it easy or to skip the gym that will be my response. If they give me a strange look I will invite them to meet the first two monsters. lol

Oh, I've got one .. how about 'haven't you heard? Healthy is the new thin!'

Training for a child! I love that! I hate when people treat pregnancy like a disease or sickness. I think it is awesome you are continuing to work out. You are pregnant, creating another person, you are not "just going to get big and fat", like you said big and round and pregnant and beautiful!

Way to keep it all in perspective! You could have let her rude comments get you down, but you changed it into motivation. You're not as crazy as you let on! Keep up the good fight!

Love it! I'm not pregnant, but I need that attitude to get to the gym anyway. Glad you took the rude comment and turned it into a positive instead of using it as an excuse to binge and not go to the gym. You're awesome!

Glad you were able to use an unthoughtful comment to motivate you more ... Yes you will get bigger , but it doesnt have to be fat. And the more you stay with it during your pregnancy the easier it will be after : ) Three cheers to you for not using pregnancy as an excuse ! Be proud of that pregnant belly and know you are taking care of you for all the right reasons !

Oh my, glad you could turn that ignorance into such a positive. Not only are you maintaining a healthy body, which will make for a healthy strong baby. Your workouts will also help you during the delivery and recovery after. I can't imagine not wanting to be stronger and healthier knowing you'll have another little one to chase around. ;-) Be proud mama!!

That cracks me up. Some people. I wonder sometimes if people even hear themselves talk. So glad it made you feel motivated.

A friend told me today that she stopped line dancing when she met her husband (who doesn't dance), and gained 20 lbs. So don't quit the gym - you're doing yourself lots of good. Hang in there!

how rude of her. being fit makes for a much healthier pregnancy and usually a much easier delivery. it also is good for your baby's health

Sounds like it may have been guilt and shame on her part seeking to undermine you. If you're pregnant and still making an effort to be healthy by pursuing an exercise regimen , what's her excuse?
