Met with my nutritionist today. Before I got to my appt I was feeling like I had failed since the last time I met with him. I hadn't stuck to my healthy eating habits I had learned and exercise was minimal at best due to the locker room being closed for construction as the gym. So this last week I felt I just didn't do my part of "losing the weight." I had this idea in my head that he would be upset with me for not doing as well as I could have.

What a surprise!! He was not upset with me at all. Not one little bit, he did dig and get me to tell him why I hadn't done as well as I would have liked. Which after a disscusion I found I was telling myself things that were not true. I would think "what's the point of trying, you can't lose all this weight" or "losing this weight isn't going to change how you feel about yourself, so why try"

My Dr helped to understand, that I'm not perfect, and if I get in a rut it's ok. He told me I"m like a baby learning to walk. When they fall down, they get back up and keep trying. So it's ok if I fall.. I just have to get back up, and start from where I'm at and don't worry about what happened the last 3 or 4 weeks, just to keep going from where I am now.

The better part is.... he told me while I was in this rut, I could have easily gained back 10 lbs or more, but I made a choice to at least watch what I was eating, so I do care more than I thought I did, because I lost weight. Even though it was only 3 or 4 lbs, it was still a loss, and that is what is important.

Now I am back on the horse, and I have my body bugg to tell me how I'm doing (which motivates me more, because I feel like I'm competing with myself, and it's a numbers game, and I love to work with numbers!)

I'm glad you found a doc that knows what they are doing and doesn't try to make you feel bad for things. That is so important! You are doing great! Let me know about the bodybugg...I just can't afford it right now but would love to!
