Good morning!

Wow. What a GREAT concert last night!

It was so much fun. It was a great show, so much good music.

Deep Purple is by far one of my top bands, and it was as always a joy to get to watch them in action.

They moved the show to a smaller venue. Deep Purple is by no means a huge band in Denmark, and it was probably too ambitious to try to sell out a 5,000 seater arena.

So, instead the announced "sold out", and moved it to a 2,100 capacity venue. We found GREAT seats on a balcony all the way close to the stage (well, everything is close to the stage there), and the house was PACKED.

This gave an intensity and a vibe to the show that most likely wouldn't have been there in a half empty sports hall.

I'm glad they did this.

Also, it was fun to go back there. I haven't been at this place since I saw Metallica in January 1987. Eons ago, it seems.

This was also the place where I went to my very first big concert, KISS back in 1984. :)

...

We walked all day. Fitbit says I burned 3600 calories, and this evens out perfectly with my calorie intake for the day. I chose to not count calories, but to register everything.

The high food intake makes be be up in weight, but it's not a big deal. I'm on track and doing well. My body fat percentage is down several percentages since the freak weigh-in last week. I'm at 15% today.

There is PLENTY of room for improvement, but this will come as I keep doing well.

Priority and consistency is key. I'm doing this.

...

Today is a very interesting day.

A journalist from a national magazine is stopping by, wanting to publish my story. He's gonna be here in a few hours, and I'm really looking forward to doing this.

He's gonna take pictures too, obviously, and I'm not too happy about that. I'm not looking as top form as I'd like, but what can you do. It'll be allright.

...

So, today, focus is on the interview, workout, walk, and of course controlling the calorie intake.

I'm sticking to my 2500 calories. It seems to be the right spot for me, and it gives me results for now. I'll just hang there. It's nice and accomplishable too. I can eat real foods, have room for a few goodies, hit my macros and lose weight.

...

Wife and I came home super late last night. Well, late considering that we usually get up at 3:30 in the morning. We were home at 1 AM, so we slept a little late. I'm not going in to work, being on sick leave and all, and Wife is working half a day today. It's all good.

I am tired though. I do not in any way feel rested. I haven't had nearly enough sleep to feel rested. Still, a great day in Copenhagen with a great friend, ending with meeting up with Wife for a Deep Purple concert - can't beat that.

...

Today, I'm thakful for:
- Priority and consistency.
- A great evening yesterday. Great show!
- Wife!
- Focus on getting the weight back to where I want it to be. Ah, the never ending journey! :)
- A hopefully interesting meeting with the journalist today.

Life is good!

Glad you enjoyed the show, and it would have been great to get away from the stress you've been under lately.

How exciting, to have a meeting with the journalist. Maybe you should write a book... and then produce a website, where people sign up and you put together menu plans and advice. Sounds like a money maker AND it would mean, you could use your sick leave productively.

I think sk1nnyfuture has a wonderful idea and I am glad you are always enjoying life Keld. When it comes to the journalist just remember no one is at their best all the time and you have come so very far!

Is this the same deep purple who did 'smoke on the water' or has a new band taken that name? I feel like I just stepped back 40 years!

Love your music tastes! It's been a while since I saw a live band - hard with 2 little people to look after, but my last one was The Who, when they did a return to Leeds where they recorded their Live album in 1970! Was ace, but some dude stood on my foot and broke a bone - my yelp was heard over the music, but I carried on rocking and even got autographs at the end!!

Bella, it is indeed the very same Deep Purple. Yes, there have been changes. "New" guitar play, as Richie Blackmore left about 20 years ago. Steve morse replaced him in 1997, give or take a year or two. New organist, as the old one retired (and has sadly passed away now). Drummer is original, and even though singer and bass player aren't originals, they are considered the "real deal" as they were there when they broke through. This is as good as I think you can get with a line-up pushing 70. :)

Pam, I saw Status Quo in the mid-90's. It was a LOT of fun. Didn't make it worse that they were opening for Alice Cooper. :) I bought the new Status Quo live bluray - the reunion of the old original line. Good fun. :)

Isn't Money for Nothing Dire Straits?

LOL listen to us oldies revelling the rock music of our youths - gotta love the older guys that have paid their dues and learnt how to perform live.

Money for Nothing is indeed Dire Straits. Still, good song. :)
