So diligent attention to sticking with my plan seems to work over a period of 3-4 days. I have faith that if I am attending to my eating, keeping a balance of protein, carbs and fats and managing the limit of calories then the weight will eventually respond. I know some people are good with weighing once a week or every other week. However, for how my mind works, watching my weight daily refocuses me on my mini and long-term goals. It keeps my health and focus in mind when friends (well meaning) say things like it doesn't matter if you do what ever you want for one day. Really, I know that one day can always be recovered, but I don't want to loose all of the effort from previous days to complete abandon. Mindful eating has never been a part of social situations for me. In fact food was comfort for the anxiousness I often feel when in groups of people. Addressing that anxiety will help me choose new behaviors that are comforting instead of mindlessly putting high-fat processed foods in the pie-hole. J

I agree, I weigh daily,sometimes several times because it does,as you say,help keep ME focused on my goals. but I only count Sundays weight as accurate & it is the one that gets recorded here. :D

JovialJ, your entry today really made me think. Thank you for sharing that. I really needed to hear it. For me, every single day matters (right now) and I'm in a "no exceptions/no excuses" mode. I also weigh daily, though I try not to freak if minor fluxuations occur. Thank you so much for sharing what was on my mind, as well.
