Been a really hard week, the scales have not been my friend. I have been doing really well with eating, I think the initial 6 pound weight loss was a shock to the body and not it is adjusting. Not to mention that my sciatica nerve is acting up so it has been so painful to get out and walk, so walking has been kept to a minimum. One day at a time and one bit at a time.

Some days I want to bake that New York style cheese and just devour it. Went to the store yesterday, I must have spent 10 minutes looking at all the ice cream that they had on sail, oh ice cream is my Nemesis, there is no control when I get around ice cream. Well I was down .8 of a pound and I will be happy with that, I sure wish it was a whole lot more.

Just an idea - maybe you should change your diet to the one that allows, for example, home made ice-cream made of skimmed milk and eggs? It mat be Dukan, Atkins,or some other?

I really sympathize with the sciatica. I just had an MRI and discovered I have a bulging disc which is the cause of my long term sciatica. I had been walking 30 minutes a day for the last year, fast and uphill, and now I am not even able to walk 5 minutes without pain any more. It has been 3 weeks and I can feel m muscles losing power. Don't know what to do for exercise when it hurts just to stand up.

Totally agree, standing up and sitting down is a killer, now if I drop something on the floor forget about picking it up, oh that hurts. I hope my is not from a disk, did your back hurt. My back does not hurt.

Yes, my tailbone area hurts, but especially behind the knee, and a little bit of electric shock on the foot. A lot of sciatica is just from muscles, though, so if your back has never hurt, it is probably from muscular strain.

Yes Josie I think you are right, the back never has ever hurt but the butt and oh over the hip and down the back of the leg and the shin just kills me, if I stay on the heat and the motrin then I do pretty good. Getting in and out of the car is a killer also. I just hope it goes away soon, I went to the doc and they said sounds like a muscle, they gave me some muscle relaxers and sent me home, what a waist of money.

Sorry you had such a bad week. But I think you have a point. Our bodies do have to adjust - they switch into survival mode sensing there may be a famine coming! LOL As for your pain, are you sure you are getting enough Omega 3's, nut oils, etc.? Our bodies cannot make these on their own.

Bruce, there are a lot of videos on YouTube about the piriformis muscle as a common cause of sciatica, with exercises you can do for it once you stop having pain. Most doctors don't know anything about the piriformis being a cause of sciatica. They just do tests and give muscle relaxer drugs or cortisone shots. They really are mostly a waste of money.

I sympathise! I have sciatica too, but from a serious injury, so same pain but different reasons. I have found that a Pilates ball to sit on, rather than the couch, helps - I feel a bit daft sitting on it to watch a movie, but it helps

I find circuit training really helps mine. I was having trouble sleeping because the pain is worse at night. I also love this odd stretching seat at the gym Not sure what to call it. Abdominal muscle strengthening helps backs. There are alot of exercises on the ball that can help your low back even sit ups on it help.

The support is so great because we all have a common goal to feel happy and healthy in our own skin no matter how much each person wants to lose, gain or maintain!
