Missychick21's Journal, 06 February 2014

Finally made a pitcher of iced tea with Truvia. I basically make the whole pitcher in advance with sweetener so all I have to do is get ice and pour. I'm glad the Truvia doesn't have as bad of an aftertaste as Stevia did... Still dealing with the stupid bronchitis but luckily the kids were able to back to school this week. Weirdly enough I couldn't bring myself to nap while they were gone.

Got my Mom coming in 5 days which is pretty exciting since my daughter's b-day is the 20th then mine is the 8th of March and she will be here for both. I'm surprising her with a concert ticket to see this guy who looks and sings like Elvis while she's in town. I'm going to try to behave during these Birthdays but I will probably have a cupcake or something...because I can. I have chosen to be disciplined but not too hard on myself. If I want a cupcake on my birthday I will eat a cupcake...I will not eat 12 cupcakes but eating one will not be the end of the world.

On a good note I was feeling munchy earlier and settled for raw broccoli with some ranch. Much better than a bunch of chips or one of my husbands moonpies so I call it a success! Oh! My son got home from school and went and got an apple and started munching away! :D YAY for kids choosing healthy snacks!

Ok, that's all for now...everyone take care :)

I love Truvia! I recently bought the generic (to shave a couple pennies) and boy was that a mistake!

I don't plan to try to the generic lol At least it's not like I use a lot so what I got should last me quite a while :)

My nutritionists' office has a very good practice... be good, keep your carbs, protein & fats in good balance for the needs of your body, but EAT CAKE ON YOUR BIRTHDAY. Have a good one :)

Loved your post. We do not have to quit having fun in order to lose weight. The secret is to limit those treats to the really special occassions!! Honest, I have lost 104 lbs. slowly but surely. You can do it!!!!!!

I will be so much less likely to go on a complete junk binge if I allow myself the rare indulgence. Otherwise I feel like since I completely failed myself and ate that one piece of sweets that there is no point in trying, leading to a binge continued by more bad habits. Basically what happened last time and why it took so long to get back in control of myself...
