Being focused on burning calories can really change your perspective on seeing things positively that others would see as a negative. For example this morning I was making a mad dash to try and get some bags of really heavy yard debri into the trash bin and to the curb before the trash truck came to pick it up. I had just finished and was rolling it out to the curb just in time to see the trash truck stop at the house just before mine when suddenly one of the wheels of the bin got stuck on a crack and the whole thing toppled over dumping at least the top half all over the driveway. It was heavy enough trying to get the bags in there in the first place and now I didn't have time to put them back and to add insult to injury they kept ripping as I tried to lift them. Needless to say the trash truck moved on to the next house which sucked but I don't blame him since he has a job to do and I should have done it the night before (lesson learned) Anywho I had to spend at least another half hour or more cleaning it all up and re-bagging everything to put back in the bin for next week. (Thankfully we don't make too much household trash so there's still enough room in the bin for next week) Under any other circumstances I would have found this impossibly frustrating but the fact that I could burn some extra calories and count the whole ordeal towards 45min of yardwork made it not seem so bad. In fact I consider many of my more phyically taxing household tasks now as another opportunity to burn even more calories for the day.
