I've done Atkins and been very successful, but once getting off that ride, it has been extremely hard for me to go back. I also, wasn't doing it very healthy especially at the end. I have ended up dealing with kidney stones which may or may not be related to my diet. I needed more non-meat and cheese food.

I got a Nutribullet for Christmas and I love it. I'm getting my daily intake of fruits and veggies and it's enjoyable! So, I may be doing Atkins, more like the OWL phase.

I'm trying to keep my carb intake around 50 and 40 of those have to be from low-carb fruits and veggies. I'm trying to come off of artificial sweeteners so 10 of those carbs are from my sugar in the raw for my coffee or tea.

I'm concerned that I may not lose weight if I'm taking in so many carbs and still enjoying the smorgasbord of meat and dairy so, I'm also using calorie restriction.

I'm aiming for 1500 calories a day. No less than 1200 and no more than 1800. I need wiggle room or I end up in poor dieting habits and extreme behaviors.

I've lost just over 3 lbs. in the last two days. I'm hoping it's because of the path I have chosen and not because of the massive poo last night!

Great job! I did Atkins years ago and it was a smashing success- for me at least. Now that I am back it, and so much more research has been done, most things I have read indicate that the OWL phase can be, and is, productive almost exactly as you stated you are following it above. The average person, not those of us who are carb addicts like myself, takes in about 300 grams of carbohydrates a day, so to take it down to 50 or so, is still a significant decrease, and you should still see some results as a result. Just remember to keep those fats in there too! You're doing awesome!!!

Check out "carb cycling" on google. Many people lose just fine. It may take a little longer, but it may be more sustainable for the long haul.
