I have decided that on Monday of next week, I will begin a 20 carb a day diet proponed by a Duke physician, who specializes in treating diabetics and heart patients. Right now, I am aggravated at my dependence on insulin and its destructive effect on my efforts to get healthy. If I can get down to my ideal weight, I may reintroduce some carbs, but for now, as of 1/13, it will be lean meat, greens, and non-starchy veggies as well as cheese, nuts, and healthy oils like olive oil and rice-bran oil. No bread or grains except on Sunday, a day of reprieve.
