kimberly rae's Journal, 29 December 2013

Oh Christmas... I see why we all just pull back and start from scratch. The cookie and candy cravings settle into being a full on addictive cycle. They are no longer even required to taste good. They are just feeding the consumptive feelings of malaise and remorse that follow a binge.
So, having noticed my self-abuse a few days early (there are three days til the ball drops) I will begin to plan my detox accordingly. Initiating through checking in here and becoming aware of my state... Hello world. I just wish I could remember each time the holidays bustle on through, the way that so much sugar makes my back hurt and unleashes my crankiness until I can barely live with myself. That must be why 'new you in the new year' is always so appealing. And taking the time to love myself and be gentle with myself, is always the beginning to good things happening. Please join me friends as I wish us all a Happy New Year and a Happy New You! And as the detoxing phase begins in earnest, lets be gentle with ourselves. Love will heal it all!
