Johanne's Journal, 05 December 2013

Sorry I've been MIA. I've had a cloud hanging over my head the last few weeks. I'm getting over it and will try to be more present. To all of my wonderful buddies who have checked in, I'm sorry I didn't answer. I've been keeping up with your journals, just not responding. I promise to do better! Love you all!!!

Welcome back - take the breaks you need but always return; that's what matters. Yes, I get leg cramps with no rhyme or reason associated with foods because I never thought of it that way; now you have me wondering if it was all the sugar (fruit, cookies) I had just before bed? I've always been so focused on relieving the pain I never connected it to intake. Definitely a good idea. Linking that with 'cookies before bed' will certainly help me remember to keep the hand out of the jar, right?

Good morning dearest, you have to come here and share your cloud, you know we have umbrellas and so much love that we chase the crap away :) Thanks for always supporting me on my journals. And yes fasting is wonderful and works well, and hope you get back into it :) Feel better dear. Tis the season, it's so stressful.

Hey girly! Food is medicine. Whenever I eat poorly, everything hurts. I noticed as soon as I eat something high in carbs and sugar, I hurt in my lower back and hips. It is immediate pain... no kidding. When I low carb foods (just veggies and meats or fish), my pains aren't so bad. I get leg cramps when I am low on potassium or magnesium. I suppose there are other reasons... like dehydration, etc. So happy to see you. We have all been discussing the stress of the season and it's easy to get down and out. I have just been there. Guess it is why I haven't been around as much as I used to. I am trying to overcome this with a better and more positive attitude and hoping this flows into my life if I make it a habit. I love you, Bonnie. Together we can all get through anything. Hugs!

Bella, for me it is definitely gluten. I've been a full blown celiac my whole life, but I was only diagnosed three years ago. For me, the charley horsing is definitely gluten. I've had them all my life. The scariest was a mild heart attack caused by a vasospasm (charley horse in the heart wall.) And, yes, when you know the pain is coming, it's much easier to steer clear of the cause. LOL! I want you to know I think of you every day. I am sending healing thoughts and love your way.

Is, it's not that I'm unwilling to share my cloud. It's just that I find it difficult to climb out of my funk and be sociable. You are a wonderful friend. It's funny, I know we are linked only by the Internet, but I consider some of you to be best friends. I feel like I really know you. I definitely care about you. Thanks for having my back, even when I'm absent. LOVE!!!

Sandy, I'm on prescribed Iron, D-3, magnesium and potassium supplements. My blood tests show my levels to be normal. I'm very careful of my fluid intake. The only time I charley horse is when I eat gluten. And, I miss you horribly when you disappear every once in a while. I'm always so happy when you come back. I'm not sure whether the depression so many of us experience this time of year is holiday related or lack of light. I am so looking forward to solstice and the days getting longer again. I love you too, truly, and I know we can do anything together. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. Let's make sure keeping in touch every day is a habit we choose and we'll all be stronger and more aware. XOXOOO (gotta love hugs!)
