DLAndrews's Journal, 26 December 2008

When I got to my brother's, I was walking to the house and fell! It took my son, his friend, my niece and her husband, to get me up, because it was so slippery, I couldn't get my footing. Even though it was family, I was embarrassed! Of course, I got harassed all day, about it! LOL! My brother, bought this fancy, schmancy, dome home, when they got a settlement from a semi hitting them. I told him, dang, you have this fancy house and can't afford salt?? I threatened to sue them, but they don't seem too worried. ROFLOL! I'm really feeling the fall today! My back and hip and elbow! Why do I always fall on the elbow I fractured a year and a half ago??
We had a great time. As usual, the taffy apple salad was a big hit. We have 2 babies in the family, this year. It seems so great to have babies and little kids around. My one nephew is making a video with all the family pictures for all of us. He has it part way done. He played what he has done. We were all in tears. Now, he wants more pictures from all of us! What a great idea, huh?
My son is still here. I'm getting ready to kick him out of bed, so we can visit. He's leaving today.
Ok, no holidays for a long while, so I'm going to bust butt, to stay on track. You know I can bust butt, look how many times, I've fell. LOL!

Oh, no! I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt! Now that I know you're alright, can I giggle a little at the picture in my mind? Sounds like it would have been a great clip for America's Funniest Videos! :) Your nephew's family video project sounds wonderful. Have fun with your son before he leaves.

I am just a klutz. I can fall over a thread on the floor. Always have been that way! I went to Wal-Mart and walked around this morning, it seemed to help a little.

Gravity has never been my friend. I seemed to sprain my ankle annually. Usually I fall from thinking I'm much more agile than I actually am instead of justifiably from ice! I'm glad you are ok overall though. The ground in the winter always seems much harder than it is in the summer.

Oh my... gosh I'm so sorry you fell. I know how badly a simple fall can be. If you are still hurting tomorrow, you might want to get checked out. I lived on and off of crutches for weak ankles during grade school! Enjoy the last day visiting with your son!
