Hello my friends! Doing well today, I suppose lol. I've been taking care of business and it's showing on the scale. Friday is looking promising. Thank you all for your support and advice!!!

I broke down and bought a food scale today while I was grocery shopping. I just got a little cheap one. It's probably not as accurate as the twenty five dollar version, but definitely more accurate than my hungry opinion lol. I just want it for meat. Excited to more accurately doc my intake.

I was talking to my grandma this morning. She just returned from a month long trip to visit her sister and I was telling her about the past few weeks. I mentioned dropping a ring size, her response was... what about a few dress sizes?? I try not to be hurt by this, because I did drop a few dress sizes (and I know she is just trying to be supportive. She is also old and crazy, so you'll have that. It's just a tad frustrating you know. I'm at the lowest weight of my adult life, I really don't need anyone telling me that isn't good enough. I love my grandma, but I am a little hurt and frustrated, I'm only human.

I have no water today. Last night I heard water spewing uncontrollable from the water lines under the bathroom. We shut off the main, so no water in the house. My husband is going to fix it after work. It'll be a nice deduction from the rent. He's a pain some times, but I'm glad to have him because alone I would be screwed. Well I need to eat, as I haven't done that yet today lol. Better get on it.

I'm glad you are having a good morning and a good attitude about things that aren't that awesome. That can be really hard to do. Hope you have a wonderful day!!

:) No water can be a real pain. Good that your hubby can fix it. As for your grandmother - I know how you feel. I got my hair straightened and my Grandmother hates it. I'm like - Oh well. Other people like it and I like it so.... I never understand family that thinks nagging or something is effective at changing people. You are working so hard... Everything in your body is moving. You are doing great but sometimes, family think the more they push - you can do even better. that is not true. You are doing what you need to do for yourself and dropping the weight that you can by using a healthy lifestyle. Those on TV can drop 20 pounds a week but do they have a job, kids, spouse, life??? no. They are secluded and do nothing but exercise with trained professionals. it is unrealistic to expect anything more out of a person who is not in that situation. Grandma watches too much TV. Remember - you have to live your life at this new weight... There is no going back to your old ways - therefore, you have to be patient with your body as it adjusts to your new lifestyle. Whatever Granny says.

Thank you smartin :-) I do my best to stay optimistic, it's not always so easy. I agree Alex, I think my grandma thinks she is offering some type of motivational shove, but I really am already working my ass off. She can't see well, maybe I'll just tell her I'm skinny now lmao. I appreciate your support, and find peace in knowing I'm not the only one dealing with extremely difficult family members. There's just something about grandmothers I suppose.

I hope your hubby gets the water fixed, that is no fun at all! I would like to buy a food scale too, mainly for meat. I know there are things I'm over and under estimating. Grandma's come from a different time where encouragement to lose weight, or for anything, wasn't the same as it is now. You're going to do great whether Grandma can see it or not. Just tell her you've gone down like 10 sizes and she'll never know the difference. :)

Thank you mars, I know he will. And if not, my brother in law is a plumber lol. It's been a pain, can't really do much without water. I highly recommend the food scale, if only for the added peace of mind. I just measured my potatoes and chorizo (Mexican sausage) and I know I would have over estimated the amount and calorie content of both. Something to think about when I was struggling to lose, maybe I was too low on the intake. I only paid five bucks for my scale, it was called a diet scale and I thought, damn that's right up my alley lol. My grandma has always hounded me about my weight, which really makes me wonder why she's always shoving her baked goods down my throat lol. I'll have to add that stuff to my list of what not to do when I am a grandparent :-)

Your such a Rock Star~ I can not believe that your weight loss journey this far has been without a food scale. Your amazing! My obsessive compulsive self would never have allowed that. lol My family sat quietly and very patiently last night while I cut the pie, as it had to be cut in perfect slices, to ensure that I only had 1/8 of a the pie. lol As to Grandma, well you get her~you said it yourself. The ones we love and are the closed to sometimes are the ones the hit us in the gut. But with all that said, it comes from her mouth with love and try your best to take it as love. You have come so far and over come so much. Not only have you succeeded but you have support us, made us laugh, gave us insight and brought us down your road of success with you, making us believers and succeeders! Smile and know your a "skinny" pillar of success, faith and hope to us all. Kuddos, to the hubby and his talents in our busy "female" world. March on my friend!
