BuffyBear's Journal, 27 October 2013

Just realized something I've been doing: I look at my RDI graph, realize I have already gone over for the day, and figure "What the hell - why not eat everything else in sight?".

This kind of thinking has got to stop. It is a cold hard fact that I will occasionally eat the wrong food (or too much of the right food) and go over my limits for the day. So what? From now on I will just start over with the very next meal as if nothing bad had happened.

Starting right now, even though I had blueberry pancakes for breakfast, my next meal will be good.

I cannot change the past but I can learn from it.

I don't know about you, but pancakes are not my friends. Once upon a time,I could eat 6-7. Drown them in syrup. I quit eating them except on special occasions, but did eat gluten free pancakes when I did my gorge and could only eat 3 and thought I was going to explode. I think half the battle is recognizing our error and returning to healthy eating.

ClassicRocker - Certainly not the best choice - I agree! But you keep watching me and maybe I'll behave.

If we were perfect, we'd all be skinny.

You haven't gone over your RDI. You had me worried. You look fine to me... you just had a nice big breakfast AND you watched your carbs ... so what? Go lighter carb at dinner.... no biggie. You are doing awesome!!!

Sometimes it time to do some real soul searching. Why do I continue to sabatage myself? It is all in our thinking. When temptation comes as it will, don't fight it-- REFOCUS-- Think on other things. If we continue to fight it we give it power, and just fuel the fire. REFOCUS! It is all a game that takes place in the mind. We are making choices to either move us forward, or backward. We are never standing still, we are either moving forward or backward! The choice is ours. We need to take responsibility for our actions.

Shar - Love that! I refocus 100 times a day at work - why don't I apply the same principal for the more important things.

LOL- I had to laugh when I read your journal. I have been thinking about eating pasta for two days BUT did not buy any to cook! I had to take one meal at time to avoid indulging!
