How frustrating! I've been going to the gym every weekday for nearly six weeks, including the use of a personal trainer once a week, and I weighed myself for the first time in five weeks (PT suggestion to not weigh daily) and I've gained weight, back to where I was back in August. SO frustrating! I'm much more toned in my arms and hamstrings but my torso is where the problem is. My clothes fit the same. I had expected to lose weight and then plateau, not gain weight.
I spoke with my PT this morning and he's going to have a think as to why I've gained weight. He's going to adjust my routine to focus on my torso instead of arms (previously, my goal was to do a chin-up, assuming the rest of the body would tone at the same time) and will increase intensity. I'm also going to adjust my diet. I can't go back to 5:2 because I'm too lightheaded on the days I fast & exercise and I'm unwilling to fast on the weekends. Thus, I'll just be tweaking my diet to eat even more healthy than before. Hopefully another six weeks following this new program won't leave me heavier than I am now.
So frustrating.
