I want to document and keep track of my journey to wellness. The weight loss is important but the feeling of wellbeing is even more critical to my reason for this change.

I grew up petite in size and by high school I barely hit 105lbs. Even through my college and early married years I stayed at around 120lbs. Then I hit a slump in my activity level. My marriage of 14 years came crashing down and my weight went up. After my divorce it was crazy the way I dropped back down to 110lbs and 12% body fat. I felt and looked amazing. Four years ago I ran a full marathon! 26.2 miles!! It had always been a goal, and I was very proud to complete that dream.
Then “BAM”!! I guess I either ate too much or moved too little and I gained and gained. Here I am at over 160lbs and I can’t believe it! At only 5’3” its a lot of weight and I feel and look horrible.
I work in law enforcement and need to stay in condition for the demands of my job. Yesterday is gone. I will not beat myself up over my failures to be healthy. I am looking at today and the rest of my life to be healthy and strong.
I hope to look at this posting in 6 months or so and say to myself “Great job Mitzi! You did it!”

Good for you!! You've done it before, so you can do it again. My hubby is in law enforcement too and he was always really active and had physical jobs, but now he sits in his car or in the office for a lot of his 10 hour shifts. Then at home he had a harder time being active, so he's gained probably 20 lbs. or so over the last few years. I'm in the same boat, when I got my office job I was used to having physical jobs, now I sit all day, so I was almost 20 lbs up when I said enough. Some days are better than others, but you can do this!! Great job Mitzi!! You are going to get healthy!
