It's been a very busy morning. Did the turkeys this morning for Thanksgiving. Probably won't get in my walking with leslie, but I have gotten enough from going back and forth to the barn today. I'm glad it is over for this year. Just came in for lunch and now off again. Now we have to deliver the rest of the birds. Most of the people have come and picked theirs up. It's 2 pm here and I am surely ready for bed. Just got to love farm life. Hope all are doing well and enjoy your week-end.:)

At least being a Brit we don't have thanksgiving so I won't have any temptations or work to do! Feel cheated as don't have a excuse for a nice dinner with family and friends lol

Well done, but will you have to do this again in December? Have you had to pluck and clean them? I tried this once and it is so hard on your fingers. You are the salt of the earth!
Have a good weekend Laurie.

Jen, nope with the plucking. We have a machine that does it. This was it, none in December. For Christmas we usually have pork for dinner and they are already in the freezer.

Must be nice to have a truly fresh turkey for Thanksgiving; you're so lucky! Our frozen fowl has been in the 'frig thawing since Wednesday, so it should be good to go for either Wednesday cooking or Thursday. Our 'frig is pretty cold, so I wanted to be sure the bird had enough time to completely thaw prior to cooking, as it was rock hard! Enjoy sitting back and putting your feet up this evening!

Way to go Laurie! Still that is great even with a turkey plucker. Does it work on humans too?

Sandy, yes they are delicious. I think our biggest one weighed in at 35.8 pounds. There is a man in Conneticut who buys our biggest one every year.
Bren, sorry it made you sick. You really have to have a good stomach to withstand the smell of the hot feathers. I've also learned that you don't eat before doing it either.
Cindy, somedays I do with that it did humans too, but I wouldn't want to be on the other end of that plucker when it comes out the other side.lol
Stef, we did 35 and I was really ready to call it quits last night. As for rest today, there is not rest for the wicked, as the saying goes.:)
