kmunson's Journal, 15 October 2013

My hubby is so funny. Yesterday with it being a postal holiday he was off work. He has lost so much weight...but part of him is still likely to binge. Having that I baked so many cookies on Sunday he went to town on those cookies. We went to conferences at school last night for our daughter. I asked him at conferences what he had eaten for supper since he was taking off after those to head out to a meeting. He said "cookies". "all I have eaten all day is cookies~" It was his breakfast, lunch and supper. At least there are eggs and flour in them! Add some milk and you have your dairy, some protein and bread covered. If he ate some apples he would have gotten his fruit too. I would not have wanted to weigh in after existing on those! There were not many left when I got home. At least that is less to temp me.

lol, sounds like my husband! Less to tempt you is a good way to look at it. Yesterday I was with a client all day and she had cookies and buckeyes sitting on the counter, staring at me. I actually covered them with a dish towel so I wouldn't have to see them lol!

The cookies never last long at my house. This double batch went to several locations. 1 dozen to my boss' family, 2 dozen to a family that is exceptionally nice to my daughter, 5 dozen to my daughter in college, 1 dozen to a newly engaged couple that are friends with my daughter. So half were not kept at the house. when I go home last night it would have been lucky to have 3 dozen cookies left! That means my hubby probably ate at least 3-4 dozen cookies himself...and the rest were my daughters and son (I had 4 cookies myself) eaten. I really have to start cutting the recipe in half. full recipe makes 8-10 dozen cookies depending on size of cookies and how many chocolate chips were used.

Cookies for breakfast lunch and dinner if he were a child you would be freaking out but what do you do with a hubby like yours. No cookies today or tomorrow? The kids are already telling me what cookies and breads they want me to bake for the holidays, I have told them that this year there will be fewer baked goods. Now that dad has passed I have cleaned out the fridg and the cupboards of all less healthy foods no crackers, no cake mixes, nothing else that I will not eat or should not eat. I have even tossed the jam.

Since hubby has lost 70 lbs in the last year I really can't yell at him. ;) He has done so much...he deserves a reward. I just don't want him blaming me when he weight increases. The cookies are gone now...I would have to bake more...which I won't right now. Good for you on cleaning out the cupboards! It was so much harder trying to keep losing when my son came home from college. He wanted things in the house that should not be here to tempt me. It will be easier for you in the long run.
