The doctor said today that whatever my hubby and I were doing to keep it up! He was thrilled with our weight loss efforts. Hubby was able to go off his blood pressure meds. My Cholesterol is still WAY too high. Dr. wants to wait another 6 months and check it again. He said if I lost another 20 lbs and it was still high he would then know that it is genetic and that diet will not work to control it. At that time he would then have to put me on meds. He doesn't want to have me have to have to be on meds for the rest of my life.

I'm sure it felt very good to get such great feedback from your doc regarding your weight, congrats on that! :-) Looks like you now have a new goal to work towards. I bet you can at least double his twenty pound recommendation in six months. As for the cholesterol, lots of fiber. The more fiber you have pushing through your colon the less time fats get to hang out down there, and the less likely that they will make there way through the colon wall and into your blood stream. They also sell over the counter all natural garlic pills that can help control cholesterol levels, I would try it. You are doing amazing, and most certainly headed in the right direction. Like your doc said, keep up the good work!!

other supplements my doctor suggest are red yeast rice, krill oil omega 3, but have to watch for a DHA not all fish oil has it, freeze the gel tabs; as it will sink faster to the bottom of intestine and maybe not so much beltching fish oil and 100% trans-resveratrol; I think that is a wine extract. Many people don't believe in supplements; but sure is worth a try for 6 months; to see if they help. My blood work is Tuesday; so I should have some idea then. Sure do hate what family genes can do.

Good for you and your hubby. I know how wonderful it is to get off some medicines. That is really the goal anyway I think - to be so healthy you dont need to pay the pharmaceutical companies :)
